The SDI Nutrition program focuses on providing comprehensive and vital services through the implementation of Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) and Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN) programs. These programs are delivered at both health facility and community levels, targeting pregnant and lactating women (PLWs) and children aged up to 59 months.

CMAM Program

Through the CMAM program, SDI provides multi-level nutrition care, including:

  • Blanket Supplementary Feeding Program (BSFP)
  • Outpatient Therapeutic Program (OTP)
  • Targeted Supplementary Feeding Program (TSFP)
  • Stabilization Center (SC)

MIYCN Program

The MIYCN program focuses on promoting optimal nutrition practices among mothers, infants, and young children. This includes:

  • Counseling on appropriate breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices
  • Education on maternal nutrition during pregnancy and lactation
  • Support for caregivers to adopt recommended feeding practices

Additionally, SDI integrates Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) for both the treatment and prevention of malnutrition. This approach facilitates malnourished beneficiaries’ access to treatment and improves the nutritional status of vulnerable populations.

Facility Level

At the facility level, SDI focuses on integrating nutrition services, particularly the OTP, through health facilities. By funding these components together, SDI aims to save resources and ensure complementarity of services.

Community Level

At the community level, SDI mobilizes Rapid Response Teams (RRT) to reach remote and underserved areas, providing essential and lifesaving nutrition services.
